First 30-day trials: Day eleven

Friday 29th September 2006 (viewed 3172 times)

Getting up at 7 am, weekends between 7-9 am
Got up at 8 am again! And will do so tomorrow too. I think I will try to get up between 7-8 on weekdays. It’s very painful for me right now without proper sleep. I get really annoyed when I can’t think straight. Not that I am straight, but you know!

Breakfast at 8 am, weekends 8-10 am, and lunch between 11 am – 1 pm,
I ate breakfast at 8 am and lunch at 11.30 am.

Reading and answering e-mails for a maximum of 30 min per day
Read and replied for about 30 minutes! Answered some and read now and then today! Getting sloppy on this goal!

And so ends the tenth day!

Getting up at 7 am, weekends between 7-9 am
I went to bed at 12 am and feel asleep around 1 am. Selpt to 8 am. Felt horrible in the morning, due to lack of quality sleep. I really hope this will change soon, because I definitively don’t feel like myself right now!

Breakfast at 8 am, weekends 8-10 am, and lunch between 11 am – 1 pm,
I ate breakfast at 8 am and lunch at 12.10 am.

Reading and answering e-mails for a maximum of 30 min per day
Read and replied for about 10 minutes.

And so ends the tenth day!

First 30-day trials: Day nine

Wednesday 27th September 2006 (viewed 3071 times)

Getting up at 7 am, weekends between 7-9 am
I went to bed at 1 am and feel asleep around 1 am. Decided to sleep to 8 am, because I was exhausted. This is really difficult, even if I go to bed early, I dont fall asleep until very late, and still get up at the same time. I can feel the depression popping up it’s ugly head again. But I’ll stick to this for 30 days! I hope it will level out in the end, but the process of getting there sure is painful!

Breakfast at 8 am, weekends 8-10 am, and lunch between 11 am – 1 pm,
I ate breakfast at 8 am and lunch at 12.40 am. Still working wonders! Haven’t felt any cravings for sweets at all the last days. It’s still baffling me!

Reading and answering e-mails for a maximum of 30 min per day
Read and replied for about 5 minutes. Very few emails coming in, it sure is a relief!

And so ends the ninth day!

First 30-day trials: Day eight

Monday 25th September 2006 (viewed 3136 times)

Getting up at 7 am, weekends between 7-9 am
I went to bed at 1 am and feel asleep around 2.30 am. Still hard to fall asleep. I worry too much about my sleep. Found some thoughts that made it easier to relax.

Breakfast at 8 am, weekends 8-10 am, and lunch between 11 am – 1 pm,
I ate breakfast at 8 am and lunch at 12.30 am! Ah, this one is going really well! No need for sugar here!

Reading and answering e-mails for a maximum of 30 min per day
Read and replied to email for about 10 minutes. I haven’t received so many emails the last 2 days, so there’s not much to reply to. I’ve saved a couple of emails that I wish to write a little longer replies to, but haven’t had the energy to answer them yet.

And so ends the eight day!

Google AdSense

Monday 25th September 2006 (viewed 5741 times)

There! As you can see I’ve finally installed Google AdSense on my blog. The reason it took so long was that I was waiting for an e-mail from google to tell me they had activated my account. And I waited, and I waited, and I waited… And yesterday I checked my gmail-account and Lo And Behold, there was the e-mail I was waiting for! To make any sense of the story you need to know that I check my gmail-account once every month or so. I was waiting for the e-mail to drop in to my usual address )

The terms for AdSense is that I cannot encourage people to click the links or click them myself, but I would appreciate comments to if you like how I’ve incorporated them into the site. Are they neat and don’t disturb you so much, or do they poke you in the eye every time you come to the blog to read it? If the second is true for many visitors I will have to rethink the ads.

Oh, and I can say that each click on the links generates many pesetas (they have excellent statistics for the ads on my Google AdSense page), so I can recommend applying to AdSense!

First 30-day trials: Day seven

Sunday 24th September 2006 (viewed 3294 times)

Getting up at 7 am, weekends between 7-9 am
Got up at 8.45. Very tired after yesterdays party! But it seems I can keep going nevertheless. Didn’t feel so tired after taking a bath.

Breakfast at 8 am, weekends 8-10 am, and lunch between 11 am – 1 pm,
I ate breakfast at 9.15 am and lunch at 1.40 pm.

Reading and answering e-mails for a maximum of 30 min per day
Read and replied to email for 10 minutes. Not much to read today!

And so ends the seventh day!

First 30-day trials: Day six

Sunday 24th September 2006 (viewed 3147 times)

Getting up at 7 am
Got up at 8.30 am. I went to bed at 10.30 pm, and fell asleep around 2 am. It was horrible! I was dead tired, and used all the tricks I know in the book to try to relax, and even stop trying, and nothing worked. So I decided to modify this goal to: Getting up at 7 am at weekdays and between 7-9 am on weekends. I would have been almost dead today had I gotten up at 7.

Eating breakfast at 8 am and lunch between 11 am – 1 pm
I ate breakfast at 9 am. I’ll modify this goal also accordingly. Breakfast at 8 am on weekdays and between 8-10 am on weekends.

Reading and answering e-mails for a maximum of 30 min per day
Today I’ve used 15 minutes to reading and replying! And now, at the end of the day, I got 4 emails left in my inbox. 2 of which I want to wait to reply and two that I want to read more properly. Feels quite good )

And so ends the sixth day!

First 30-day trials: Day five

Friday 22nd September 2006 (viewed 3156 times)

Getting up at 7 am
Got up at 7! Damn, I’m getting good at this! Went to bed at 11 pm and fell asleep around 11.30, woke up several times at night, had a restless sleep. I’m hoping this will get better once my body really gets used to sleeping regular hours. I think I will after this trial experiment on how much sleep I need, to feel recovered, and to see if there are any factors, like extensive training, that increases my need for sleep. And I think I’ll have to find a technique to help me fall asleep whenever and wherever, that would be awesome!

Eating breakfast at 8 am and lunch between 11 am – 1 pm
I ate breakfast 8.05 am, and lunch at 12 am. Still feels good! No need for sugar!

Reading and answering e-mails for a maximum of 30 min per day
Read and replied and wrote new e-mails for 35 minutes. I think I’ll separate Read & Reply from writing new e-mails. The main point of this goal is to minimize the impact of e-mail reading throughout the day, and to make my replying more effective. New e-mails I need to write to get things in motion or to inform people about things, and the writing of such e-mails takes it’s time.

And so ends the fifth day.

First 30-day trials: Day four

Thursday 21st September 2006 (viewed 3060 times)

Getting up at 7 am
Got up at 7 am. YAWN! Went to bed att 11 pm, and fell asleep around 12.30 pm. Kept waking up a couple of times, I think it has to do with that I’m a little stressed out due to lack of sleep and am feeling worry when I go to sleep that I wont get enough sleep. My usual strategy has been to get up later if I have slept restlessly, but now that I know I wont postpone getting up, I feel worry that I will not get my need for rest/sleep met.

Eating breakfast at 8 am and lunch between 11 am – 1 pm
Ate breakfast at 8 am and lunch at 12.30 am! Aaah, no sweet craving at all! It feels great! And no trouble eating at these times either. Fantastic. I think I’ll turn into a healt freak guru when this trial is over. Will try to convince all my friends to try it! Bwhaahahahahahaa! Beware! Or as it said on a sign at a dyslexis convention: Believe in Dog. Or the pep rally slogan ‘Dyslexis of the world, untie!

Reading and answering e-mails for a maximum of 30 min per day
Today I’ve been sloppy with this goal…! I read and replied to email for 60 minutes today. I had a lot of todos I wanted to be done with, which required me sending emails, and I prioritized that today. But I will keep it the rest of the days. Will have to be more efficient, postpone long replies to later )

So ends the fourth day.

First 30-day trials: Day three

Wednesday 20th September 2006 (viewed 2930 times)

Getting up at 7 am
Got up at 7 am again! And went to bed a little before 12 pm, and fell asleep around 1 am. Felt really groggy the whole day, until Aikido practice in the evening. And I’ve also felt a cold coming on. This happens when I don’t sleep enough. So I’ve bought some C-vitamine to help fend it off. The bonus side is that I’ve been taking walks every morning, between getting up and eating breakfast. Feels kinda good, but don’t know if they have any effect on my energy levels and mood.

Eating breakfast at 8 am and lunch between 11 am – 1 pm
Ate breakfast at 8 am and lunch around 12 am. Almost no craving for sweets today! It’s marvelous how just pinpointing two meals to a certain time can in a short period reduce my inclination to eat sugar!

Reading and answering e-mails for a maximum of 30 min per day
Read e-mails for about 10 minutes today. Because I was feeling tired the whole day I only read through the new e-mails and answered to a couple of them. Will save the others for another day!

So ends the third day.
