No more Being in love…

Monday 16th October 2006 (viewed 6399 times)

Yes, as you could read in one of the posts, I got dumped on saturday evening. I see that it’s not that clear when ya read the posts, so I’ll write a separate post about it )

This is the first time I’ve been really dumped :P This was my 5:th short term relationship. Ah how I long for the experience of a long term relationship! I’ve done the dumping previously or it has been a mutual decision.

I’ll miss Ola a great deal, since he was the first one I was together with whom I really shared my sense of humor with and who had many qualities I look for in another person. Ah well, now comes the time to let go of all the fantasies of what could have been and yet again put my focus on what I wish to experience in my future!

So there will be a couple of posts about dating in the future, since I’m going to experiment with it after my feelings cool down a bit. I’ll actually start going to gay parties and stuff! Can’t rely on the internet being the only way to meet guys. Only two of my five relationships were with people I first met in Real Life, the rest were via the internet.

Being in love

OlaAh, yes, I wrote about a cute boy from Jönköping I started chatting with 15:th of july, in my post What’s Mika been up to? This has evolved a little after that! Oh, and his name is Ola.

After talking alot on www.qx.se, a swedish dating site for HBT-people, we finally met for the first time 3:rd of august. He came over to Linköping and we went out to eat, and saw the new Superman movie at the cinema. Kinda funny, isn’t it? Two gay guys watching a guy in tight pants! I remember that I was a little nervous about how he would respond to me, but in the cinema I could feel my elbow touching his, and I really enjoyed that contact.

It ended with him sleeping over hug No sex, mind you! We had agreed to not have any sex on the first date. Oh, the stories to tell! So the first date was from 3-4:th of august.

Anyways, we then continued to talk, mainly by SMS, and some by QX, for a week, and then I went over to Jönköping to visit him. Oooh, he’s such a good cook! He treated me to pepper beef and potato gratin (not sure these things really are called this in english, kinda translated them right off from swedish), and wine! I stayed for 3 days 8) This was 15-17:th of august.

We talked some on the phone, but still mostly by SMS. And we had a third date 2-3:rd of september. I went to his parents place in a small town outside of Borås. His parents were at a wedding at the time, so we had the whole house to ourselves. Or rather, ourselves and 3 dogs! I actually got bitten by one of them! Nice dogs, very small, but I was a little afraid of one of them, but at the end of day 2 all of them seemed to have gotten accustomed to me.

And finally, at 00.18 12:th of september, we decided to call ourselves boyfriends! Aaah, what a happy night that was for me! I sent SMS to 33 of my friends telling about the news! I spent a conciderable amout of time floating on little pink fluffy clouds!

Since then we’ve been keeping phone contact a lot. My phone bill will soar, but it’s worth it ) Will have to switch to skype at some point. Works fine for me, since I got a bluetooth headset, makes it easy to talk everywhere. Will have to check with Ola if it works for him.

Last time we saw each other was last friday, 29:th of september. Me and my friend Peter Modin took his car down to Jönköping. It was time he met one of my friends, I thought! And I prepared myself for the meeting by buying myself new clothes (which I really needed!), a bouqet of 3 roses and a heart shaped chocolate box! I know, corny romantic, but I was sure he was going to appreciate the corniness! And he did D Wuhuu! Points to my corny, romantic brain! I had a real fun time, even though I was really tired!

He’s coming over this weekend, probably 6-8:th of october, and I’m sooo looking forward to it! :pom: We spent over 6 hours on the phone yesterday, the longest call I’ve ever made, and talked and talked, and laughed and talked! And made some plans for the weekend. whip

I’m confident that this will evolve into something beautiful! love

Productivity tip #3 – Birthdays

Saturday 16th September 2006 (viewed 5983 times)

If you’re like me, you are probably having difficulty remembering all your friends birthdays, and if you’re even more like me, you value the reaction of people whos birthday you remember. It’s a way for me to show them that I care by remembering days that hold importance to their lifes. But beware! Not all are happy to be reminded of the fact that they’re getting older! )

For a while I solved this by creating a database and connecting it to a daily scheduler that every day went through the database and sent me an email of all the birthdays I wanted to keep track of that were upcoming the next week.

The only drawback was that it was hard to get a view of the coming birthdays, like if I wanted to view who had birthdays on a specifik week, or two weeks into the future.

Today I’ve solved it by putting all the people whos birtdays I want to track into my Outlook calendar. I’ve created reocurring day-events, with a year as the interval. I’ve also attatched an alarm to each event that goes off 2 days before the birthday, if I happen to miss it in my calendar. In the created day-event I also record what year the person was born, that way I know how old they’ll be too )

Do you have any way of tracking your friends birthdays? If you do, I invite you to share it with me, so I can see if there’s even better ways of doing it!
